In Fall 2019, HHMI will be launching a new initiative, called “Driving Change,” that will award institutional grants to up to six research universities in the United States.
The objective of the initiative is to effect institutional change leading to the success of all students in STEM. Each grantee university will:
- design and implement its own adaptation of the Meyerhoff Scholars Program; and
- develop approaches that will lead to a more inclusive learning environment for all students with the aim of eliminating disparate outcomes for students from different backgrounds.
The 5-year, non-renewable grants will be intended to provide “start-up” funds to assist the grantee institutions as they launch their programs.
