ROLE

As a Senior Director - Scientific Program Officer, Joshua Hall helps guide and manage programs that support early career scientists including the Gilliam Fellows Program, which he oversees. 

BIO

Hall joined HHMI in 2021 after 12 years as a Director in the Office of Graduate Education at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where he led training programs for science trainees and directed graduate admissions for Biological and Biomedical PhD programs. 

Hall earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary, and a PhD in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed postdoctoral training studying host-pathogen interactions, also at UNC.
