At the end of fiscal year 2018, the Institute had $20.4 billion in consolidated diversified net assets, making it one of the world's largest private supporters of basic biomedical research and education. Over the last five years, the Institute has provided more than $4 billion in direct support for research and science education, based on GAAP or generally accepted accounting principles.
