Resource Type
Description
Researchers in Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique are using motion-activated trail cameras to determine how the park’s lion populations, as well as other animals, have been recovering since Mozambique’s civil war. Hundreds of thousands of photos captured by these trail cameras are now available on WildCam Gorongosa, an online citizen science platform that allows the public to identify the animals in these photos. The data recorded by WildCam will be used directly by scientists in Gorongosa to help with their conservation efforts.
In this lesson you will learn how to use WildCam Gorongosa and get introduced to some of the animals in the park. Complete the assignments below, then click “Next” to move on to lesson two.
