Duration
Description
In this talk, biologist Elizabeth Hadly discusses human activities and their effects on biodiversity in the past, present, and future.
Human activities have caused the extinction of many species. Even today, human population growth is driving direct threats to biodiversity, such as habitat destruction and climate change. Hadly describes how humans impacted prehistoric megafauna in the past, are impacting wildlife in Yellowstone National Park in the present, and may cause even more species losses in the future.
This talk is from a 2014 Holiday Lecture Series, Biodiversity in the Age of Humans.
