Yu Tian Wang, Ph.D.

Yu Tian Wang

Dr. Wang is a professor in the Department of Medicine and Brain Research Centre at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He also holds the Heart and Stroke Foundation of British Columbia and Yukon Chair in Stroke Research at the UBC and Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre. He received a Ph.D. in neuroscience in 1992 from the Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. Johns, Canada. He has received a Canadian MRC Scholarship, a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Research Scholarship, and the MacDonald Scholar Award. In 1999 he was named an EJLB Foundation Research Scholar; in 2002 he was named UBS distinguished Scholar and Senior Scholar of the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research; and in 2006 he was elected to the Academy of Sciences of the Royal Society of Canada.
