Adrian Vivian S. Hill, M.B., B.Chir., D.Phil.

Adrian Vivian S. Hill

Dr. Hill received his M.B., B.Chir. in 1982 and his D.Phil. in 1986 in molecular biology from the University of Oxford with his work on the molecular basis of thalassaemia in Oceania. He is the recipient of many awards, among them the Linacre Medal and Fredrick Murgatroyd Prize in Tropical Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians of London, the 1994 Graham Bull Prize in Clinical Science, and the 1996 Zoological Society of London Medal. Currently, he is Wellcome Trust Principal Research Fellow at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine and Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics at the University of Oxford. In 1999 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences. His HHMI-funded project is concerns the development of vaccines against malaria.
