Neil Ferguson, D.Phil.

Neil Ferguson

Dr. Ferguson is Professor, and holds a Royal Society University Research Fellowship, at the University of London, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in the United Kingdom. He received his doctorate in theoretical particle physics from the University of Oxford in 1994. In 1995 he received a Wellcome Biomathematics Training and Research fellowship. In 1997 he received research fellowships from the Royal Society and from Linacre College, Oxford University. In 2001, he received an Officer of the British Empire Award for his services to Epidemiology and the Control of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Ferguson conducts research on the development of robust methodologies for the quantitative analysis and prediction of patterns of infectious disease spread and evolution, as they apply to the design of control and treatment programs.
