Gary Struhl, Ph.D.

Gary  Struhl

Dr. Struhl is also Professor of Genetics and Development at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. degree in genetics from the University of Cambridge, England, where he studied with Peter Lawrence. Before joining the faculty at Columbia, he conducted molecular and genetic studies on Drosophila in the laboratory of Tom Maniatis at Harvard University. In addition to several fellowships, Dr. Struhl received the McKnight Neuroscience Development Award. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and was recently elected to the National Academy of Sciences.



RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:

Gary Struhl is interested in identifying and determining the mode of action of molecules that confer spatial information during animal development.
