Paul W. Sternberg, Ph.D.

Dr. Sternberg is also Thomas Hunt Morgan Professor of Biology at the California Institute of Technology and Adjunct Professor of Cell and Neurobiology at the University of Southern California School of Medicine, Los Angeles. He received his B.A. degree from Hampshire College and his Ph.D. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for work with Robert Horvitz. He did postdoctoral research on yeast molecular genetics with Ira Herskowitz at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Sternberg is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. He is also the lead principal investigator of WormBase, the major international public database of information about C. elegans and related nematodes.
