G. Shirleen Roeder, Ph.D.

G. Shirleen Roeder

Dr. Roeder is also Eugene Higgins Professor of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at Yale University and Professor of Genetics at Yale University School of Medicine. She received her B.Sc. degree from Dalhousie University and her Ph.D. degree from the University of Toronto. She was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University, where she studied with Gerald Fink.



RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:

Shirleen Roeder is using budding yeast to study chromosome pairing, synaptonemal complex formation and genetic recombination during meiosis, and the coordination of these processes with meiotic cell cycle progression.
