Dr. Movshon is Presidential Professor of Neural Science and Psychology at New York University and Adjunct Professor of Physiology and Neuroscience at New York University School of Medicine. He received his B.A. degree and his Ph.D. degree in experimental psychology from Cambridge University, where he worked with Colin Blakemore. Dr. Movshon then joined the faculty at NYU, where he was founding director of the NYU Center for Neural Science. Among his honors are the Young Investigator Award from the Society for Neuroscience and the Rank Prize for optoelectronics.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:
Anthony Movshon is interested in how the brain encodes information about visual scenes and objects and decodes that information for the control of behavior.
