Peter Klein is also Associate Professor of Medicine (Hematology-Oncology Division) and of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His Ph.D. thesis, with Peter Devreotes, addressed chemotaxis and development of Dictyostelium discoideum. After completing a residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, he began a postdoctoral fellowship with Douglas Melton at Harvard University, where he studied the embryology of Xenopus laevis.
