Dr. Kaback is Professor of Physiology and of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and a member of the Molecular Biology Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, interned at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, and did postdoctoral research at Einstein. Subsequently, he conducted research in membrane biochemistry at the National Heart Institute and the Roche Institute of Molecular Biology, chairing the Department of Biochemistry at the Roche Institute. Dr. Kaback is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Academy of Microbiology, and the American Biophysical Society.
