Dr. Irvine is also Professor at the Waksman Institute and in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He did his graduate work on the regulation of homeotic genes with David Hogness at Stanford University. He conducted postdoctoral research on morphogenesis, cell signaling, and growth control as a Helen Hay Whitney Fellow with Eric Wieschaus at Princeton University.
