Kathleen L. Gould, Ph.D.

Kathleen L. Gould

Dr. Gould is also Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She received her A.B. degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Ph.D. degree in biology from the University of California, San Diego, studying with Tony Hunter. Before moving to Vanderbilt University, she carried out postdoctoral work in the laboratory of Paul Nurse at the University of Oxford, England.



RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:

Kathleen Gould is interested in understanding how cells divide. Her laboratory utilizes a genetically tractable yeast, Schizosaccharomyces pombe, as a model organism to study the molecular mechanisms of cytokinesis.
