Dr. Goodman is also Evan Rauch Professor of Neuroscience in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology and Director of the Wills Neuroscience Institute at the University of California, Berkeley, and Adjunct Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. He received his B.S. degree from Stanford University, his Ph.D. degree from U.C. Berkeley, and was a postdoctoral fellow at U.C. San Diego. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, and the American Philosophical Society. His honors include the Waterman Award, IPSEN Prize, Taylor Prize, Gairdner Award, Ameritec Award, Wakeman Award, and 2001 March of Dimes Prize.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:
Corey Goodman is a developmental neurobiologist who uses genetic analysis to try to understand the mechanisms that control the wiring of the brain, that is, how neurons find their correct targets, make appropriate synaptic connections, and adjust and refine the size and strength of those synapses.
