Max D. Cooper, M.D.

Max D. Cooper

Dr. Cooper is Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics, Pathology, and Microbiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He received his M.D. degree and training in pediatrics at Tulane Medical School and his postdoctoral training in allergy and immunology at the University of California, San Francisco, and at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Cooper served as president of the American Association of Immunologists and of the Clinical Immunology society. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Academy of Sciences.



RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:

Max Cooper's laboratory pursues ontogenetic and phylogenetic studies of the adaptive immune system in parallel with the analysis of immunological diseases in humans.
