Brenda L. Bass, Ph.D.

Brenda L. Bass

Dr. Bass is Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and Adjunct Professor of Human Genetics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She received her B.A. degree from Colorado College in Colorado Springs and her Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her doctoral research was performed in the laboratory of Thomas Cech, and her postdoctoral fellowship was with Harold Weintraub.



RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:

Brenda Bass is interested in double-stranded RNA-binding proteins and the biologic functions of dsRNA. Her research is particularly focused on dsRNA-binding proteins involved in RNA editing and RNA interference.
