Dr. Andrews is Leland Fikes Professor of Pediatrics and Dean for Basic Sciences and Graduate Studies at Harvard Medical School, Senior Associate in Medicine at Childrens Hospital Boston, and Distinguished Physician of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University, where she began her research training with Joan Steitz. She completed the M.D.-Ph.D. program at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she earned her Ph.D. degree in biology with David Baltimore. She carried out her postdoctoral research with Stuart Orkin at Children's Hospital Boston.
