Dr. Mayorga is Principal Investigator and Associate Professor, Institute of Histology and Embryology, Faculty of Medical Sciences, National University of Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. He received a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the National University of San Luis, San Luis, Argentina, and postdoctoral training at the Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri. His honors include a research fellowship from the Argentine National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and a biotechnology career fellowship from the Rockefeller Foundation.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:
Dr. Mayorga's research focuses on characterizing the molecular mechanism involved in exocytosis during the acrosome reaction of human sperm cells and assessing general mechanisms of secretion in this model. His lab is also interested in the role of Rabs in the endocytic and phagocytic pathways.
