HHMI International Program

Science Around the World

Science is a multinational, cross-cultural endeavor that connects researchers across the borders created by discipline and content. HHMI's International Program complements the Institute's programs for investigators in the United States by supporting outstanding scientists working in countries where HHMI support can significantly further innovative basic biomedical research.

International Early Career Scientist Program
Through this pilot program, HHMI seeks to encourage the careers and scientific creativity of scientists working outside the United States in selected countries. Learn about the International Early Career Scientists appointed in 2012. Currently, HHMI is not accepting applications for the International Early Career Scientist Program.

New TB/HIV Research Institute
The KwaZulu-Natal Research Institute for Tuberculosis and HIV (K-RITH) is a groundbreaking collaboration between the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa (UKZN).
