Search the catalog using key words by typing them in the box at the top of the column to the left. You can further refine the search by choosing a format from the list.

For more information about a particular item, click on the title and a full description will appear in a product page. There you can read product details, see related online features or products, and view other media formats. Some items are offered in class sets (30 copies for instructional use), which will be indicated in the full description. Take care to follow the instructions when ordering these publications.

To Order

First determine the quantity and then click the Add to Order button for each item. Review your order at any time by clicking on "View/Edit Order" at the top of the page.

Checking Out

After you have finished making your selections, proceed to Checkout to review your order and submit it for processing. If you have not logged in, you will be asked to do so in order to retrieve your shipping information. If you do not have an account and wish to open one, you can do so at this point.

You will have the opportunity to review your order, send it to someone other than yourself, update your account or your order, or send us feedback. After submitting your order, you will be sent an email notification that your order has been received. Make note of the order number for tracking purposes. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Report a Problem

From time to time you may encounter difficulties with our site. We want to know about it. Please report any technical problem or tell us if  you could not find what you were looking for. If you received an error message, please paste a copy of it in your email or describe as best you can what you were trying to do when the error occurred.

Special Requests for Multiple Copies for the Classroom

Multiple copies of certain items are available to educators for use in the classroom. During checkout click on the "multiple order for classroom" link and fill out the special request form. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the review process.

Orders from Countries Outside North America

If you are outside North America, to receive materials you will need to submit a special request. During checkout, you will be redirected to the special request form. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the review process.

For international orders, please be aware that we cannot declare zero value, even for free educational materials. We are required to declare a nominal value of the materials within the package even if we have not charged you for the materials or shipping. Most countries allow free domicile though the postal system for values under $50. However, some countries may levy an import fee for which you would be responsible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any charge for your materials?
All products ordered through the HHMI Catalog are free. There is no shipping charge.

How long does it take to get my order?
Orders are processed daily and shipped. Domestic orders usually arrive within 2-4 weeks. Packages weighing over one pound are shipped via United Parcel Service; packages under one pound are handled by the United States Postal Service. Foreign orders are shipped surface mail and time of delivery depends on destination.

Can I change my order after I have submitted it?
You can send corrections to us using our Contact Us form. We'll take it from there.

What if there is a problem with my order?
If the order is defective, please discard the item and reorder. Let us know what the defect was by contacting us.
