HHMI has selected thirteen medical students from across the country to receive support for another year of research.

Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) named 13 medical students to receive continued support fellowships. The awards enable fellows to devote an additional year to biomedical research. Continued support awards also include up to two years of financial assistance to complete a medical degree. Awardees include 11 men and 3 women. They will continue their research at eight U.S. institutions.

HHMI supports nearly 500 graduate and medical students at more than 70 universities and research centers. Since the fellowship program began, the Institute has awarded nearly $200 million to 2,000 graduate and medical students.
