UTSW Medical Center Symposium to Honor David L. Garbers

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas is honoring the life and legacy of the late David L. Garbers by hosting a memorial symposium on November 16, 2006.

Garbers, a distinguished scientist and an investigator with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute for more than 30 years, died on September 5, 2006, in Dallas where he had been a professor of pharmacology and director of the Cecil H. and Ida Green Center for Reproductive Biology Sciences at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He was 62.

Those interested in attending the symposium should contact Wendy Deaner in the department of pharmacology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW).

The Garbers family has requested that memorial donations be made to UTSW to establish the David L. Garbers Lectureship. The address to which such donations may be sent (with a note stating that the donation is for the Garbers Lectureship) is:
