Postdoctoral Associates at Janelia

Lab heads with vacant positions recruit postdocs in the same way that faculty do in academia. These positions are fully supported by HHMI. Those interested in obtaining a postdoctoral position at Janelia Farm should contact directly the lab head with whom they desire to study. There is no centralized recruitment process for postdocs.

We have agreements with three foundations (Helen Hay Whitney, Life Sciences Research, and Jane Coffin Childs), so that if a postdoc is awarded a fellowship, the awarding foundation or agency allows the fellow to retain the title and the non-monetary benefits of the award while HHMI pays the full stipend. In this way, we allow the individuals to enjoy the status and privileges of their awards even though Janelia Farm postdocs cannot accept funding from outside sources.
