Robert H. McGhee![]() BIOGRAPHYRobert H. McGhee is Institute architect and senior facilities officer. He joined HHMI in 1985 as director of research facilities planning. McGhee has a master's degree in architecture from Rice University. He has earned an international reputation in laboratory design, overseeing millions of dollars in HHMI lab renovations and construction projects, including Stanford University's Beckman Center, Yale University's Bass Building, the Eccles Center for Human Genetics at the University of Utah, the Mission Bay Campus at the University of California, San Francisco, and the University of Chicago's Interdisciplinary Research Building.
