HOW TO CHECK YOUR SCREEN RESOLUTION

Windows 95, 98, NT

  1. Click on your "Start" button. The "Start" button is usually in the lower left corner. This is the button labeled "Start" with the little multi-colored Windows logo on it.

  2. Select "Settings."

  3. Select "Control Panel." The Windows control panel box will pop open.

  4. Double-Click on "Display." A "Display Properties" box will pop up. Depending on what kind of video card your computer has, this box will have between five and twelve tabs. Don't worry, we're only concerned with one that every computer has.

  5. Click on the "Settings" tab. Midway down on the right-hand side of this panel there will be a little area called "Display Area." This indicates your screen's resolution. The resolution is the first number x second number ratio displayed there.

Macintosh Operating System

  1. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen.

  2. Scroll down the list of choices and click on Control Panels.

  3. Click on Monitors and Sound.

  4. On the screen the appears, make sure that the Monitor (left-most) button is pressed down.

  5. Under the Resolution item, you should see your current resolution settings. The resolution is the first number x second number ratio displayed there.
