Genetic Variation and Nicotine Addiction: Investigating How Genes Influence Smoking Behavior. Both student and teacher editions of this DNA sequencing module are available. This module uses an inquiry approach and DNA sequencing to engage students in understanding the biology of drug addiction and how genetic components might contribute to smoking behavior. The unit was developed by the NIDA-funded StarNet Project in conjunction with the Biological Sciences Curriculum Study.
