. Identification of new source of funding for SD-SEEP.
There is a necessity to identify and pursue new sources of funding for the SD-SEEP family of programs. The three program directors have worked hard to build quality programs and to promote them to the appropriate constituents within the state. All of these programs have become well recognized and anticipated by teachers and students and it is the desire of the SD-SEEP program directors to continue to offer these programs in the future. While there may be some efforts toward ¿institutionalization¿ of elements of these programs it is clear that additional outside funds will be needed to effectively carry out these programs in the future. Grant application have been submitted to NIH SEPA (Feb 2004-not funded) and to HCOP ( Feb 2005) . Efforts are being pursued to instiutionalize some of these programs but to little avail at present because of instituional budget constraints.
Effectively dealing with increased individual school request for Molecular Biology outreach activities by SD-SEEP faculty. Dr Noiva found that there was an increased demand on his time for participating in science out reach activities. While he was able to address most requests for his time and expertise he does find this to be coming toward a critical juncture as he tries to juggle all of his normal faculty duties along with this increased demand on his time. It is possible that the advent of the Science on the Move trucks may help alleviate some of the future demands for his participation in Molecular Biology outreach
