Teach.Genetics
A companion to the popular Learn.Genetics website from the University of Utah's Genetic Science Learning Center, Teach.Genetics offers additional tools and resources to help educators bring genetics, bioscience, and health alive in the classroom. A “Print and Go” ™ Lesson Plan Index contains activities designed to support and extend students' learning of the many topics featured on Learn.Genetics. Downloadable PDFs include complete instructions, student worksheets, overhead masters, and answer keys. The site, still in a Beta version, contains supplemental materials on Epigenetics, including activities, assessment questions, learning objectives, and background information. To support the Amazing Cells section on Learn.Genetics, supplementary materials explore the inner-most workings of cells, from the structure and function of organelles to communication on a molecular level. This genetics website was the first winner of the Science Prize for Online Resources in Education, which recognizes outstanding freely available online materials that enrich science education.
Program Director: Dr. Louisa Stark
