On the first day of a year-long introductory chemistry course at Atlanta's Emory University, students walked in to find three large round tables surrounded by white boards, no lectern, and a professor who didn't stand still.

Their instructor, Tracy Morkin, really baffled them. She projected some charts with numbers on the wall and told the students they would be teaching one another chemistry.
