This mini-lesson covers the research on telomeres that has happened since the 1995 Holiday Lectures.

Telomeres are the ends of eukaryotic chromosomes. Because telomeres are implicated in both aging and cancer, research has been vigorous and progress rapid. This special feature revisits key concepts concerning telomeres and highlights some of the discoveries made since the 1995 Holiday Lectures on Science.
