Summary

Summaries and links to the data files used to create the charts in EarthViewer, including the APK file to manually install the app.

The Android version of HHMI BioInteractive's EarthViewer on the Google Play and Amazon App Store is only visible for installation on 7" and 10" tablets. An APK is available at the bottom of this page for power-users who wish to install and try it on smaller devices including phones running Android Version 4.0 or newer. Please note: EarthViewer is not officially supported on phones or small tablets as it has not been optimized for small screens.

The table below summarizes the data files used to create the charts in EarthViewer. Click on the links to open a tab-delimited text file. You can cut and paste the data into any software of your choice to graph and analyze the data for yourself.

Files are arranged by time period with "Modern" representing the years 1912–2012, "Paleo" representing 0–540 million years ago (Ma), and "Early Earth" representing 540–4567 Ma. The variables of oxygen, day length and luminosity, are each covered by a single file that spans all of Earth history.

APK File: EarthViewer-1.1-4406.apk (122 MB) 

To manually install the APK version over the Internet, on your Android device, go to Settings -> Security, then enable Unknown Sources (Allow installation of apps from unknown sources). After changing your security settings you can download and install the APK file.
