Becoming a Scientist
Michael Rosbash

Follow your star. That's what Michael Rosbash advises students who are thinking about a career in science. "If you are interested in something, go for it," says Rosbash, an expert on the "circadian rhythms" that guide sleep patterns. "See how deep your interest runs and what will happen at the next step. Don't be afraid and try it." Rosbash also emphasizes the importance of curiosity, saying it's an attribute that's more important in science than in some other fields.
