Hugh J. Morgan, M.D.

Dr. Morgan graduated from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1918. He completed residencies at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research. Through most of his career, Dr. Morgan was associated with Vanderbilt University and Hospital, as professor, physician-in-chief, and trustee. He was in the Army Medical Corps during both world wars, holding ranks from private to brigadier general, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. He was president of the Association of American Physicians in 1950 and, in the later years of his career, was an advisor to several federal agencies. He was a member of HHMI's Medical Advisory Board from its inception until his death.
